Thiruchendur Murugan Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Murgan and is one of six major abodes of Lord Muruga. This temple has been in existence for millenia, according to the Puranas (ancient Scripts ) . The name Tiruchendur means a place of abundant sandalwood .

The beautiful  Gopuram of the Thiruchendur Murugan Temple , gopuram is a monumental tower at the entrance of the temple . Huge gopuram’s are foudn in all temples in south India .
